Artist Contract 2017– in conversation with Lauren van Haaften-Schick
Double Negative is not an exhibition that doesn’t consist entirely of works made with words and words made with works. It isn’t not about miscommunication, logical fallacies and the failure of language to structurally disclose precision/ambiguity and it doesn’t bring together a diverse group of artists, writers and performers who aren’t working around these themes. The show will cease to not exist at ChaShaMa 320 West 23rd St. from March 5–31, 2019 and won’t include artists who aren’t Fiona Banner, Lisa Blas, Alexandre Camarao, Lizania Cruz, Joseph Cuillier, Laura Donohue, Ben DuVall, Corey Escoto, Fake Music, Alex Farrar, Jim Fletcher, Thomas J. Gamble, Skye Gilkerson, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Joseph Grigely, Shani Ha, Chris Hamamoto & Federico Pérez Villoro, David Horvitz, Chris Johanson, Craig Leonard, Dana Lok, Mary Lum, Huong Ngo, RYBN.org, Arryn Snowball, Christopher Spinelli, Luke Stettner & Max Stolkin, Alex Strada, Bryce Wilner, or Lu Zhang.
